Northern Sierra Soccer Referee Association (NSSRA) represents the interests of soccer referees in the Northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and Truckee areas. We currently provide referees for Nevada High Schools and Adult Soccer Leagues

Our association is currently the exclusive referee association for High School Soccer in Northern Nevada. Our association also operates under an agreement and provides officials for the Sierra Nevada Soccer Association. Each of these associations has different requirements in order to become a referee, see the steps below needed for each association.

BECOME A REFEREE


Sierra Nevada Soccer Association

The league is comprised of adult Men's Gold and Silver divisions and a Women's 7 v 7 division that play a year-long season starting in August and finishing in June (with a break during the winter). The league is sanctioned by US Club Soccer.

  • Be a certified USSF referee in the current calendar year



High School Soccer (NIAA)

The High School soccer season runs from August thru November. Our association handles all of the games in Northern Nevada as far east as Pershing County and schools around Lake Tahoe.

  • Be a member of the NSSRA
  • Attend one of the pre-season High School meetings
  • Register with the NIAA/NFHS and pass a background check (fees apply)
  • Take the NFHS Soccer Exam online (score 70 or better)
  • Attend one of the fitness tests dates
  • Attend all in-season High School meetings
